Cast Iron Flooring for Sows

Farmweld’s popular Modular Raised-Center Platform is now available with a new option — cast iron for its center section. The cast iron section is a high-quality, European casting with a non-slip surface. Farmweld selected this premium cast due to its superior durability against breaks and rusting and because it provides excellent traction for the sows. The cast is designed with raised grids across the surface and a unique raised edge around its perimeter which helps the sow maneuver up and down. The cast iron surface also provides a comfortable, cool zone for sows.

The Modular Raised-Center Platform center section is 24" (610 mm) wide, which means there is plenty of room for the sow, with two 18" (458 mm) wide plastic side areas for the piglets. The same high quality polypropylene panels used in the Farmweld Flooring System™ create the side sections. These offer a warm, safe environment for the pigs. And because the center section is raised one inch (26 mm) above the creep areas, it provides better access to teats for nursing.

The 1/4" (7 mm) galvanized support system, standard with the Modular Raised-Center Platform, is heavy-duty for long-lasting life. It connects securely to the center sections and side panels.

The modular design makes Farmweld’s platform easy to handle and assemble. Farmweld’s other center section options, super heavy woven wire or Tri-Bar,® are also available.
