Farmweld unveiled its new Farmweld DRIK-0-MAT® Wean-to-Finish Water Cup at World Pork Expo in Des Moines, IA. The cup is the first in the industry specifically designed to handle pigs from 7 to 280#.

"The new wean-to-finish cup provides excellent accessibility and comfort for small or large pigs," says Frank Brummer, president of Farmweld. The cup is an innovation of Farmweld's with manufacturing done in Denmark by Egebjerg.

The Farmweld DRIK-0-MAT Wean-to-Finish Water Cup is taller and wider than the traditional DRIK-0-MAT Finishing Cup in order to better match a growing pig's requirement without the need for adjustments. "Our new cup is the largest water cup in the industry, says Brummer. "It is super comfortable for justweaned pigs to the heaviest finishers."

Farmweld DRIK-O-MAT Wean-to-Finish Water Cups are to be installed in wean-to-finish pens at a height of four inches from the floor, where they remain for the entire feeding period. So there is no need for extra brackets or the inconvenience of having to adjust the height of the waterers. The new cup also has a slightly more open top th an traditional DRIK-O-MAT cups. This change was made to give the largest pigs even more comfort and headroom.

The other change between the new cup and other styles of the DRIK-O-MAT is that the new wean-to-finish cup has an incorporated 54" upright pipe. This pipe is hooked directly onto the watering system, which eliminates the need for extra extension pipes. "We have taken a two-part system and made it into a onepart system," says Brummer. 'This will make our cups even easier to install."
